The Bella+Canvas Tee Made From 7 Plastic Bottles

Welcome back to another episode of the Garment Decorators Podcast!

This week, Andy and Molly are joined by Zazie Hillsden, Brand Manager at Bella + Canvas.

Bella + Canvas have some very exciting new products for the print industry in 2024 and Stahls' UK is thrilled to get the exclusive on these for our listeners and heat printers across the industry.

In this episode, we discovered the brand new EcoMax Tee. Bella+Canvas have a long track record proving their commitment to sustainability and this new 100% recycled tshirt is just the one of many exciting eco-developments for the company. After the introduction of new dye machines, Bella+Canvas now save 24 million gallons of water per week! All other water involved in the production of blank garments goes through a filtration system allowing it to be recyled. On top of this, the company reduce their co2 emissions by using motion-sensor LED lighting and sky lights for natural light and offers employees electric car charging stations.

But most impressively of all, their manufacturing facilities and LA headquarters produce almost no landfill because they recycle almost every single scrap of waste that cannot be turned into a tshirt. Excess fabric in the past has been recycled into upholstery stuffing or into baby bibs but now, they've turned their eco-expertise to what they know best, tshirts.

This 150gsm tee is made from the scraps of the best-selling CV3001 tshirt and recycled along with 7 plastic bottles per shirt. Zazie elaborates on the manufacturing process for the t-shirt explaining that for every 1 CV3001 tshirt Bella+Canvas produce, the scraps created 2x cv012 EcoMax Tees!
